In 2005 UFS was instrumental in forming the Immigrant Survivors of Violence Coalition, a group of immigrant service providers who meet monthly to share information and resources. This group chose to apply for a Department of Justice Legal Assistance to Victims grant with United Family Services acting as the lead agency. The grant enhances immigrant services at United Family Services, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, Legal Aid of North Carolina and Legal Services of the Southern Piedmont.
